The Mangrove Seed journey
of a balanced S(s)elf in everyday living fundamentally requires
an inner strategy for personal peace. The conditioned personal
beliefs and attitudes that form a fear-based, controlling,
dysfunctional personality are changed to promote a trust-based,
GENUINE caring behavioral system.
This BALANCING of fear with trust requires conscious, long-term
re-programming which includes
Cognitive alteration of fear-based
beliefs and attitudes
a. A new perception of and belief in universal and innate invididual
S(s)elf worth
b. Recovery of personal trust in a balance between the rational
and intuitive minds for interpersonal relationships
c. Acceptance of the “ok-ness”
of all outcomes in every moment of daily life
d. Assumption of total personal responsibility/accountability
for personal transformation
e. Knowing that a balanced S(s)elf is achievable in the present
moment, not in an illusory future time period
Daily personal maintenance of a conscious
clarity
of non-loving, fear/resentment-based behaviors
a. Examination of obstacles to releasing fear beliefs and attitudes
b. Reinforcing inner strength with a spiritual/intuitive connection
c. Encouraging others to balance fear with trust
d. Participation in small support groups
e. Demonstrating through thought and action GENUINE caring behavior
in every present moment

The
Mangrove Seed Model For Peaceful Living Offers A
Holistic Path, Process, And Practice
The PATH is
a six stage, integrated psychological and spiritual transformative
journey of change motivated by
-
Conscious and/or unconscious
pain/dis-ease
-
Release of total control
by the fear-based rational-mind - (s)
-
Acceptance of a
psychologically integrated inner person
-
Conscious choice
to balance the integrated inner person with a spiritual
dimension
-
Rebalancing of the integrated person
with the trust-based, intuitive-mind - (S)
-
Maintaining a balanced S(s)elf in daily
living
The PROCESS is
a three phase program of change
1. trusting a new balanced S(s)elf
2. releasing rational mind dominant control
3. balancing the new S(s)elf in every moment
This process facilitates an experientially
based exploration of psycho-spiritual “BE-ATTITUDES” that
comprise the eventual daily balancing of
S(s)elf:
- Accountability
- Trust
- Surrender
- Compassion
- Acceptance
- Cooperation
The PRACTICE of
balancing the S(s)elf in every day living incorporates
a nine action discipline that forms the “spinal cord
and backbone” for the Mangrove Seed Institute Learning
Program.
This practice is applied in the six parts
of daily living where a person demonstrates peaceful and GENUINE caring.
- Spiritual
- Emotional
- Physical
- Social
- Practical
- Mental
This daily, conscious, and
holistic practice
is the Mangrove Seed journey
of recovering a balanced
inner “wheel of life”
and manifesting outer peaceful
living.
The journey is the destination; it is a way of living.

The learning curriculum
of the Mangrove Seed Institute consists of six core module
areas of learning: spiritual, emotional, physical, social,
practical, and mental. Daily personal living is applied in
these areas, in a balanced manner, to facilitate peaceful
living.
Each module can be viewed as a “spoke” of the
wheel of life which must be balanced daily in order to maintain
a state of wellness, peaceful living, and proactive recovery
from addictive/neurotic behaviors, attitudes, and beliefs.
The modules contain many topics, techniques, perspectives,
and philosophies of recovery, which taken together, form
the “flesh and blood” of the total Mangrove Seed
model for peaceful living. This “body” of content
can be imagined as the material form that surrounds a three
phase, nine action structural
“spinal cord and backbone”
as its core.
Continual daily practice of the nine principles
of the Mangrove Seed learning program for peaceful living
will manifest the habit of S(s)elf acceptance. The nine actions
are not “steps” to be taken on the journey; they
are constant benchmarks, guidelines for a re-conditioned
personal response to the fear-based survival demands of a
rational mind.
The Mangrove Seed offers a "how to" plan
for peaceful living; however, you provide the "what
to do" from your personal life situation.
You are provided with a skeleton upon which you add your
individual flesh and muscle to create an authentic S(s)elf.

The dynamic curriculum of the
Mangrove Seed is designed to appeal to three different levels
of adult development on the journey to recovering a balanced
S(s)elf.
The essential difference in these levels is both the degree
of familiarity with the process of a psycho-spiritual journey
and the depth of understanding the subtle aspects of the
journey.
For those with little or no prior psychological or spiritual
development work, the first level is appropriate. For those
with at least 10 years of continual psychological and/or
spiritual development work, the second level is appropriate.
And, for those seeking a more sophisticated process of
balanced S(s)elf development, primarily from a spiritual
perspective, the third level is appropriate.
This process allows us to
- Be consciously aware of our fears and
those of others
- Be fully responsible for accepting ourselves
and others just as we are in the present moment; and,
- Be trusting of our inner S(s)elf for clarity
and compassion in the caring of our S(s)elf and other S(s)elves.
Staying in our hearts, if they
are open, is where we can learn how to avoid reacting to our
psychological resentments and fears created by our rational
mind. When our hearts are masked by fear, we escape into our
heads. We defend our mentally perceived threats to survival
by trying to control our inner and outer environments.
Avoidance of healing our past emotional pain often results
in attitudes and behaviors that project blame and guilt upon
others. We thus escape from our responsibility to accept
and love all aspects of ourselves, especially the parts of
us that feel unloved and unlovable. Conversely, assuming
the "victim role" will foster neither personal
responsiblity nor accountability for change.
 |
|
It is your thoughts
alone that cause you pain.
Nothing external to your mind can
hurt or injure you in any way.
There is no cause beyond yourself
that can reach down and bring oppression.
No one but yourself affects you.
It is you who have the power to dominate all
things. What was seen as fearful
now becomes a source of innocence and holiness.

By consciously balancing our rational
mind with our intuitive "heart-mind" in every
moment of daily life, we can allow internal healing through
our compassionate acceptance of our woundedness. Also,
sharing our innermost fears with others, in a space of GENUINE caring,
allows us to be with our inner fears and to move through
rather than around them.
If we want to open our hearts, we must be willing to build
a consciousness of S(s)elf trust. We must learn to connect
with our innate self-worth. From this connection with the
source of our wholeness, we can learn to live without fear.

It is the heart
which experiences god,
not reason.

Be still, and know that I
am God.

Present
Moment, Balanced Acceptance
Is The Key To The Recovery Of Peaceful Living
The
quintessential educational goal of the Mangrove
Seed Institute
is to to facilitate your conscious re-connection
with an inner power of S(s)elf caring, and,
to accomplish this in every
present moment,
not at some future point in time.
Empowerment
for peaceful living is possible NOW, not later!
When we dance, the journey itself
is the point;
when we play music, the playing itself is the
point.
Meditation is the discovery that
the point of life
is always arrived at in the immediate moment.
